Celebrating 25 Years of Transformation

September 2, 2026 - 6 min read

Twenty-five years ago, Nextant was founded with a simple mission: to provide world-class consulting services to companies seeking to leverage the Internet to create and deliver business value.  Since then, the business world has undergone multiple waves of transformation, each one reshaping how companies operate, compete, and grow.

Businesses have adapted to the rise of the Internet, embraced cloud computing, transformed customer and employee experiences through mobile technologies, and are now navigating the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence.  Throughout every phase of this evolution, one thing has remained constant: organizations need trusted partners who can help them understand what is changing, determine what matters most, and execute successfully.

That has been Nextant’s role for the past 25 years.

The Beginning: When the Internet Changed Business

At the start of the century, the Internet was fundamentally changing how organizations reached customers, delivered services, and created competitive advantage.  Companies were under pressure to modernize, connect digitally with partners and customers, and rethink traditional ways of doing business.

Nextant was born during this moment of disruption.  Founded in 2001 as a professional consulting firm serving the technology industry, the company helped organizations use emerging digital capabilities to drive growth and operational effectiveness.

From the beginning, our focus was never solely on technology.  Success depended on aligning strategy, processes, people, and execution to achieve measurable business outcomes.  That perspective would prove invaluable as new waves of transformation emerged.

The Cloud Revolution: Reinventing the Business Around Technology

As organizations moved away from traditional infrastructure and on-premises systems, cloud computing transformed far more than technology.  It changed how organizations created, sold, delivered, supported, and monetized products and services.

Subscription-based revenue models began replacing large one-time transactions.  Customer success and long-term value have become increasingly important.  Organizations need new ways to measure performance, maintain customer relationships, and generate sustainable growth.

For many businesses, the challenge was not simply adopting cloud technology.  The greater challenge was adapting the organization to thrive in a cloud-first economy.

This is where Nextant helped clients create lasting value.  We worked alongside leadership teams to evolve business models, redesign sales processes, modernize compensation structures, and prepare teams to respond quickly to new market requirements.  Organizations had to rethink how they engaged customers, how they rewarded performance, and how they measured success.

The result was not simply a successful cloud transition.  It left the organization better positioned to compete, grow, and keep evolving in a rapidly changing digital economy.

The cloud transformation taught us an enduring lesson: new technology creates potential, but organizations realize value only when their business model, operating model, processes, and people evolve with it.

Connected, Mobile, and Data-Driven Organizations

The next transformation wave brought unprecedented connectivity.  Mobile devices, digital platforms, advanced analytics, and collaborative technologies reshaped expectations for employees and customers alike.

Organizations gained access to more data than ever before, while also facing increased complexity in managing information, delivering seamless experiences, and driving adoption of new tools and processes.

As technology evolved, Nextant evolved alongside it.  Our work expanded beyond implementation to include change management, business process optimization, program management, strategic communications, governance, and organizational readiness.

This experience reinforced another important principle: transformation is not complete when a solution goes live.  Transformation succeeds when people adopt new ways of working and the organization realizes measurable value.

The AI Transformation: A Familiar Challenge at an Unprecedented Scale

Today, organizations are facing a transformation that is both familiar and unprecedented.  It is familiar because, like the Internet and cloud shifts before it, AI requires companies to rethink how they operate.  It is unprecedented because AI is not simply changing technology platforms.  It is transforming how work is performed, how decisions are made, and how value is created across the enterprise.

The connection to the cloud transformation is clear.  During the move to the cloud, organizations had to adapt commercial models, sales motions, incentives, customer engagement, performance measures, and workforce capabilities.  AI is creating a similar need for enterprise-wide change, but with implications that reach into nearly every role, process, and decision.

Organizations must once again look beyond deployment.  They need to determine where AI can create meaningful value, redesign processes around new capabilities, clarify how roles will evolve, build skills, establish governance, and help employees adopt new ways of working.

Having helped organizations navigate earlier market transformations, Nextant brings a valuable perspective to the AI journey. We understand that technology alone does not transform an organization. Success comes from connecting strategy with execution and aligning the business model, operating model, data, processes, technology, and people.

Today, Nextant combines business expertise, AI, automation, data, change management, and operational excellence to help clients improve how work gets done and translate emerging capabilities into sustainable business value.

What Has Never Changed

Over the past 25 years, technologies have evolved dramatically, but the core challenge has remained the same: helping organizations adapt successfully and convert change into business value.

That is what Nextant brings to every engagement, regardless of size, industry, scope, or whether the relationship is established or new.

  • Deep business understanding that connects market change to practical priorities
  • Experience translating strategy into disciplined execution
  • Expertise spanning technology, operations, business transformation, and organizational change
  • Lessons gained from helping organizations navigate multiple generations of disruption and innovation
  • A consistent focus on adoption, measurable outcomes, and long-term value

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate 25 years in business, we are proud of the milestones we have achieved, but even more proud of the transformations we have helped our clients achieve.

Our history is not defined by any single technology, platform, or trend. It is defined by our ability to evolve, adapt, and help organizations do the same.

The next wave of transformation is already underway. Whatever shape it takes, Nextant will continue to do what it has done for the past quarter century:

Help organizations embrace change, accelerate innovation, and turn emerging opportunities into measurable business results.

Inspiring Excellence. Empowering Success.
